VANESSA LABRIE, co-founder/artistic director
Born in Denmark, raised in Montreal, and trained in England, Vanessa has always been an avid traveler. Never completely identifying with the French Canadian culture nor the English Canadian one, she has always deeply felt what Canadians know as the Two Solitudes. Vanessa fell in love with England, and at the same time, has never felt prouder to be Québécoise. To quote Joni Mitchell very poorly, Don't it always seem to go that you don't know what you are till you're gone?

KATHLEEN GLYNN, co-founder/production manager
Normality is a paved road: it’s comfortable to walk but no flowers grow on it. - Vincent Van Gogh
In the largely uni-lingual French bastion of Québec City, Kathleen’s bilingual upbringing - her Dad was from Dublin, her Mom was from the Saguenay - was a constant topic of debate; was she more Anglo than she was Franco? Even to Kathleen, it’s never been an easy one to answer.
In her artistic pursuits she has realized one thing: her irrepressible French-Canadian-ness and her Irish spirit have proven wonderfully harmonious. Click here to learn more about Kathleen.
